A cultural program was organized by the Nature team Trincomalee among the tsunami affected children on 16/17 March 2006 . Trincomalee is very unique area where Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim communities are live in harmony in the eastern coat of Sri Lanka. However Trincomalee become very hot spat during the past few months as number of incidents of shootings, bomb blasting and buildings were taken place there. However this attempt of the Nature team helped to forget all divisions among youth and children of various ethnicities and unite them in the area. National fisheries solidarity supported this workshop as a part of its youth movement building efforts. However the follow ups works are at a stalemate due to escalating violence towards war.
Mr. Ananda Sarath Gallage reported this after few months of the work done. We are thankful to Mr. Sarath for this brave stand amidst risky situation to unite communities in the area.
