.: Stop Port City Project - Civil Society urged the Government

Hundreds of people gathered to Galle face in Colombo, today to mark their resistance on Port City project. The protesters demanded that the Government reverse the decision to go ahead with the project, which started by the previous government and prim minister promised to stop while he was in election campaign.

on 06th of April, PM is planning to visit China and sign a new agreement on Port city construction.
Peoples Movement against port city project which is combination of civil society organisations including National Fisheries Solidarity Movement organises and staged the protest.

A report prepared by the movement was handed over to a secretary of the President and to higher officials of Prim Minister Ranil Wicramasingha.
