Discussion
on the situation in plantation Sector
National fisheries Solidarity Movement and Praja Abihilasha
Network conducted a discussion on land issues, administrative matters, education
and other important issues at plantation sector in Central province. Discussion
was held at CODESEP (Community Development Service of Plantation) hall in Deniyaya on 10th of February 2019.
There were different people such as community leaders, women leaders in village level, school teachers, program animators, coordinators and social activists in the meeting. Following issues were concerned in the meeting such as lack of land facilities for the people in estate sector, no proper education systems for Tamil students, lack of basic facilities for living, discrimination and health issue in the estate sector. Mr. Anthoney Jesudasan and Miss. Deepa Subashine also participated representating National Fisheries Solidarity Movement.
