Demonstration at Fort Railway Station

The Alliance for the Protection of National Resources & Human Rights organized a Protest action to demand justice for tsunami victims and to defeat the goverment's deceptive and destructive plans.
The demands:-
1. That the coast & beaches be reserved for fishing communities, not appropriate to creat a tourist paradise
2. The establishment of a People's Planning Commission and the abandonment of the Big Businessmen's Taskforce
3. Permanent houses for the displaced before the next monsoon
4. An end to the selling of our water, electricity, land, education, media, phosphates and other national resources and to the construction of highways

All the alliance supporters about 800 people gathered at the Fort Railway Station at 12.00p.m. With all the slogans, banners & posters they marched towards the Hide Park. At the end, they had a meeting and the protest was closed. And also, at 3.00p.m A Press Conferance took place at the Nipon Hotel regarding the protest.
