.: Especial Workshop for Animators

To day is the last day of our 3 days work shop at Chinthana familyl plannin g Center in Nainamadama. Regarding the awareness the DIFSO members in Ampara Partner Organizatin. DIFSO[Ampara Disttrict Fisheries Soidarity] coordinator and the all it’s branchers leaders participated to this workshop. Really we hope to awre them in respect of the following issues

F Objectives of the NAFSO
F NAFSO vision
F What is the NAFSO and Nafs’s history
F how the NAFSO involve with the victims the procedure of
giving our service.

Special participants were National Convener of the NAFSO Mr. Herman Kumara, Administrative Secretary of NAFSO Mrs. Geetha Lakmini, The Netherlands HIVOS Advisor Mrs. Fizoon Zakariya. It was a very successful work shop for those animators an the Thyroes of the NAFSO.

NAFSO (National Fisheries Solidarity Movement), organizes fishermen to lobby the government to defend their rights and to bring about good environmental practice in coastal areas. ...NAFSO has helped a fishing community to take legal action against a proposal to build a five-star hotel on a mangrove where fish spawn."We are not against hotels, because they bring tourism and income.
