.: Opening of Organic Food Stall

Collecting with all the organic food products (rice, vegetables, and some kinds of grain) of farmers, various handy crafts, of the district, The NAFSO Karuwalagaswewa partner organization, PRAJA SHAKTHI FOUNDATION opened an organic food stall in Karuwalagaswewa today (6/13/2008) inviting NAFSO National convener Herman Kumara and AED officer Pradeep Wanigasooriya.

Especially in the process of organic farming programme of Praja Shakthi Foundation (PSF), their objective is to develop at least 500 organic home gardens in the area and all organic products of Neela Haritha Uyana (Training center for organic farming), which is maintained by National fisheries Solidarity will be sent to this stall for selling.

“This is great opportunity to our neighbors to buy healthy foods, which cultivate without poison in our home gardens “added Ms. Jayawathi Menike , coordinator of Praja Shakthi Foundation.

Encouraging small organic farmers as an alternative for the growing food crisis in the world as new trend and this center will be an also information unit of distributing information to build up vigorous public opinion in the future.
