Cancabato Bay still contaminated with red tide..

TACLOBAN CITY - The Fishery Law Enforcement Team (FLET) has cautioned fishermen and the public to avoid fishing and eating any kind of shellfish from Cancabato Bay due to red tide contamination. The bay was declared free of red tide toxins in the last week of September. However, a Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) test showed that the bay is again positive of red tide toxins. FLET member Agustin Abit said their office has been personally giving warnings to fishermen to avoid fishing from the bay. He said the team will submit specimens to the BFAR for testing of contaminants. more news
