During a district conference conducted on 29th of May a fisheries society known as Kilinjalmedu, in Tamilnadu has imposed a prohibition regulation for their members to enter and fish in Sri Lankan waters.
Mr. Weeradasan, chairperson of the society further has mentioned, that the Karikaal and Nagei district fishers are the majority of the illegal fishers in SL waters and main reason for these issues is due to lack of united mechanism for the fisheries among two countries.
