National Fisheries Solidarity involves in several ways of solving
the issue of invading Indian trawlers and stops the destruction making by them
in North Sea of Sri Lanka. Gather of
data on regular basis is crucial to show and confirm how much damage caused to
the resources by bottom trawlers.
As second step of training given to fisher leaders from
North by the National Fisheries Solidarity with the help of CAFOD, two field technical training were conducted in Poonagari Fisheries cooperative society building - Kilinochchi in May 17 and Mannar Fisheries cooperative building on May 18th on frontline SMS campaign.
NAFSO hope to gather basic data on Indian trawler invasion
during first 3 months using front line SMS technique.
The training were conducted by Anthony Jesudasan, overall work
coordinator of NAFSO on North and East provinces.
