People's Caravan for Food sovereignty starts

National Fisheries Solidarity movement together with MONLAR today started the week long caravan which will cover anout 10 districts in the Island With the theme of "let's protect natural resources, heal the earth and let's build a country without having burden of borrowings and hunger"
On 12th Oct. two teams of NAFSO activists carrying out programs in Eastern province.
One group will meet fishers in Trincomalee district where destrctive fishing practices destroying the fisheries resources and other group meets fishers in Oluvil where their livelihood threatens with large scale fisheries harbor that causing massive coastal erosions and have lost landing points, fisher huts and houses belongs to small scale fishers. 

Hoping to strengthen of people to fight for their rights and help to get secured food sovereignty.
