Several crafts and 12 fishers with Illegal nets taken in to Custody

12 fishing boats with fishers who used illegal/ destructive fishing nets have been taken into custody by the Sri Lanka NAVY in Mannar. The sea in Mannar area highly affected by the Indian bottom trawling invasion. Local fishers reaching into illegal methods mainly due to lack of resources as destruction continuous. Still, the government has failed to give a long term solution for the Indian trawling issue or for the illegal fishing methods.
