Awareness training on Reconciliation




A half day awareness training on Reconciliation was conducted on the 21th June 2019 at the NAFSO training Centre. Three recourse persons representing GIZ facilitated the training.  A member from Sri Vimukthi women’s organization, two members representative from Muslim community, members from Lagoon fisher origination in Basiyawatta, Negombo and two staff members participated this workshop.      
Gust after the religious observation and introductory session was conducted by the recourse people and asked the participations “What they mean by Reconciliation, and how they filed the word Reconciliation”. the comprehensive discussion on Reconciliation was then conducted.    
This discussion was conducted in small group and the final outcome was presented by the group leaders the main forum. The recourse person explained the meaning of the Reconciliation is Responsible Governance, Opportunity for everyone, and Active participation of citizens, Trust worthiness of everyone, protection in well-being, Identity and justice, Right to Commemorate the past.  
A discussion was then held on the challenges that we experience when creating in Reconciliation atmosphere.  During the discussion participants explained their views on Reconciliation. They set that Reconciliation they needed but it is very compressive process. Participants further the set the discussion on Reconciliation is very important to the county and should continue the dialog with some practical approaches for the future.
