විශාල පිරිසක් සිය දෛනික අවශ්‍යතා සඳහා ප්ලාස්ටික් පොලිතින් වැනි දිරා නොවන ද්‍රව්‍ය භාවිතය අද වන විට විශාල පාරිසරික ගැටලුවක් බවට පත් ව ඇත. එම නිසා පරිසරවේදීන් පවා අද වන විට ප්ලාස්ටික් පොලිතින් නිසා සිදුවන හානිය පිළිබඳව කථිකාවට බඳුන් කර ඇත. මේ පිළිබඳව වටහා ගත් මන්නාරම දිස්ත්‍රික් ධීවර සහයෝගිතා ව්‍යාපාර සිය ධීවර සාමාජික සාමාජිකාවන් වන පල්ලිමුනේ ධීවර ජනතාව ප්ලාස්ටික් පොලිතින් නිසා ඇති වි ඇති පරිසර හානිය ඇතුළු ගැටලු සම්බන්ධයෙන් ධීවරයින් දැනුවත් කිරීමේ එක් දින වැඩසටහනක් 2022 අගෝස්තු මස 10 වන බදාදා දින එම ධීවර සංවිධානයේදී ධීවරයින් 45 සහභාගිත්වයෙන් හා එම ව්‍යාපාරයේ ප්‍රියතන්තා පැවැත්විණි.
The Mannar District NAFSO team conducted a one-day training program for fishermen on the 10th of August with the aim of educating fisher communities on Environmental damage that occurs through the usage of plastic items.
It was emphasized, that the use of non-degradable materials such as plastic, and polyethene by a large number of people in Sri Lanka is used for their daily needs and this has become a big environmental issue today. It was also discussed that environmentalists have shown that the damage caused to the environment, water and sea due to this usage of plastic and polythene is very severe.
45 fishermen from the Mannar district attended this workshop.
