Due to the wind farm project and dumping of mineral sand, fishermen are suffering a lot. In particular, the jobs of textile industry workers are completely destroyed and the people in the areas where this project is being implemented are facing environmental problems. Mannar district fishing organizations, civil organizations, women's organizations and religious leaders have come together to hold a massive protest in Mannar city on Monday, August 29, 2022. Held in the city and a petition was handed over to the District Secretary to be sent to the President. The protest was organized by the Mannar District Citizens Committee and the National Fishermen's Cooperation Movement was supported by Northern Provincial Fishermen's Association and other civil organizations. Anthony Jesudasan, Coordinator of National Dhiwara Cooperation Movement, Benedict Krusch, Mary Priyantha, Media Spokesperson of Northern Province Fishermen's Association, NM Alam and Treasurer A Sankar also participated in this protest.
සුළන් බලාගාර ව්යාපෘතිය සහ ඛනිජ වැලි ගොඩ දැමීම හේතුවෙන් ධීවරයින් විශාල පිඩාවට පත් වේ. විශේෂයෙන් මාදැල් කර්මාන්තකරුවන්ගේ රැකියාව මුළුමනින්ම විනාශය යටපත් වන අතර මෙම ව්යාපෘතිය ක්රියාත්මක කරන ප්රදේශවල ජනතාව පාරිසරික ගැටලුවට මුහුණ දෙන නිසා මෙම ව්යාපෘති නතර කරන ලෙස ඉල්ලා මන්නාරම දිස්ත්රික් ධීවර සංවිධාන සිවිල් සංවිධාන කාන්තා සංවිධාන ආගමික නායකයින් එකතු වී 2022 අගෝස්තු මස 29 වන සඳුදා දින මන්නාරම් නගරයේදී දැවැන්ත උද්ඝෝෂණයක් මන්නාරම නගරයේදී පැවැත්වු අතර ජනාධිපතිතුමාට යැවීම සඳහා පෙත්සමක් ද දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම්තුමියට බාර දෙන ලදී. මෙම උද්ඝෝෂණය මන්නාරම දිස්ත්රික් පුරවැසි කමිටුව විසින් සංවිධානය කළ අතර ජාතික ධීවර සහයෝගිතා ව්යාපාරය උතුරු පළාත් ධීවරයින්ගේ එකතුව ඇතුළු ධිවර හා සිවිල් සංවිධාන මේ සඳහා සහයෝගය දක්වන ලදී. ජාතික ධිවර සහයෝගිතා ව්යාපාරයේ සම්බන්ධිකාරක ඇන්තනී ජේසුදාසන් මන්නාරම දිස්ත්රික් ක්රියාකාරින් බෙනඩික් කෲෂ් මේරි ප්රියන්තා උතුරු පළාත් ධීවරයින්ගේ එකතුවේ මාධ්ය ප්රකාශක එන් එම් ආලම් සහ භාණ්ඩාගාරික ඒ සංකර් යන අය ද මෙම උද්ඝෝෂණය සඳහා සහභාගි වූහ.
காற்றாலை மின்சக்தி திட்டத்திற்கு மற்றும் கனிய வளமண் அகழ்வினால் மீனவர்கள் பாரிய அளவில் பாதிப்புக்கு உள்ளாகியுள்ளனர். குறிப்பாக கரவலை மீனவர்களின் தொழில் முழுமையாக பாதிக்கப்படுவதோடு இத்திட்டம் நடைமுறைபடுத்துகின்ற பிரதேசங்களில் வாழும் மக்கள் பலவித சூழல் பிரச்சினைகளுக்கு முகம் கொடுப்பதாக கூறி இத்திட்டத்தை உடனடியாக அரசாங்கம் கைவிட வேண்டுமென கோரி மன்னார் மாவட்ட மீனவ இயக்கங்கள், சிவில் அமைப்புகள், பெண்கள் அமைப்புகள், மத தலைவர்கள் ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் ஒன்றை 29.08.2022 நடத்தினர். இறுதியாக ஜனாதிபதிக்கு அனுப்புவதற்காக ஒரு மகஜர் மாவட்ட செயலாளருக்கு ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டது. இந்த ஆர்ப்பட்டத்தை மன்னார் மாவட்ட பிரஜை குழு மூலம் ஒழுங்கு செய்ததோடு தேசிய மீனவ ஒத்துழைப்பு இயக்கத்தின் வடமாகாண மீனவர்களி;ன் ஒன்றியம், மீனவ மற்றும் சிவில் அமைப்புகள் இதில் கலந்துக்கொண்டனர். தேசிய மீனவ ஒத்துழைப்பு இயக்கத்தின் இணைப்பாளர் அன்டனி ஜேசுதாசன் மன்னார் மாவட்ட இணைப்பாளர் பெனடிக் குரூஸ் செயற்பாட்டாளர் மேரி பிரியன்தா வட மாகாண மீனவ ஒன்றியத்தின் ஊடகவியலாளர் என்.எம். அலான் மற்றும் பொருளாளர் ஏ. சங்கர் ஆகியோர் இதில் கலந்துக் கொண்டனர்.
