සුළුපන්න ධීවර කාර්මීකයින් සඳහා වෙන් වූ ඔවුන්ගේම වර්ෂයේ සුළුපන්න ධීවර කාර්මීකයින් මුහුණ දෙන ඉතා ඛේදනීය තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳව ජාතික ධීවර කාන්තා සම්මේලනය සමඟ අනුබද්ධිත ත්‍රිකුණාමලය දිස්ත්‍රික් උදයම් දිස්ත්‍රික් කාන්තා සම්මේලනයේ සංවිධානයෙන් උද්ඝෝෂණ ව්‍යාපාරයක් 2022 සැප්තැම්බර් මස 08 වන බ්‍රහස්පතින්දා දින ත්‍රිකුණාමලය නගරයේදී පැවැත්විණ.
රටේ පවතින ඉතා අසීරු හා දුෂ්කර ආර්ථික අර්බුදකාරි තත්ත්වය හමුවේ ධීවර කාන්තාවන් ඇතුළු සුළුපන්න ප්‍රජාව මුහුණ දෙන ඉන්ධන ගැටලුව, තහනම් පන්න භාවිතය, ජල හා විදුලි බිල අසීමාන්තිකව ඉහළ, යෑම ස්වයං රැකියා ගැටලු සහ ඉන්දීය ට්‍රෝලින් සංක්‍රමණය ආදී ගැටලුවලට ස්ථිරසාර හා තිරසර විසඳුම් ඉල්ලා සුළුපන්න ධීවර ප්‍රජාව හා ධීවර කාන්තාවන් මෙන්ම විලංකුලම, මුත්තුනගර්, කප්පල්තුරෛයි, මනයාවේලි, කල්ලරාව, පුම්බුහාර්, ලිංගනගර්, විජිතපුර, ලව්ලේන්, සිරිමාපුර, ආන්දම්කුලම, කිලිකුන්චිමලේ, මහමායාපුර සහ විහිඳුපුර යන ප්‍රදේශවලින් සියයකට අධික පිරිසක් මෙම උද්ඝෝෂණ ව්‍යාපාරයට සහභාගි වූහ.
A protest campaign on the tragic situation faced by small-scale fishermen organized by the Trincomalee District Udayam District Women's Federation, affiliated with the National Fishermen's Women's Federation, was held on Thursday 08th September 2022 in Trincomalee.
The fuel problem faced by the small-scale fishermen including fisherwomen, the use of prohibited fishing gear, and the unlimited increase in water and electricity bills were highlighted in the protest campaign.
Demanding permanent and sustainable solutions to the problems, small-scale fishermen, fisherwomen, as well as more than a hundred people from Vilankulam, Muttunagar, Kappalthurai, Manayaveli, Kallarawa, Pumbuhar, Linganagar, Vijitapura, Lovelane, Sirimapura, Andhamkulam, Kilikunchimale, Mahamayapura, and Mihindupura, participated in this campaign.
