 වර්තමානයේ පවතින අධික ඉන්ධන මිල ඉහළ යෑම නිසා ඇති වී ඇති ඉන්ධන අර්බුදය ඇතුළු කාන්තාවන් මුහුණ දීමට සිදුවන ගැටලු මුල් කරගනිමින් ජාතික ධීවර කාන්තා සම්මේලනයේ සංවිධානය කළ මාධ්‍ය සාකච්ඡාවක් 2022 සැප්තැම්බර් මස 07 වන බදාදා දින ගාල්ල දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ පෙට්ටිවත්ත ග්‍රාමයේදී පැවැත්විණ.

මෙම මාධ්‍ය සාකච්ඡාවේදී අරමුණ පැහැදිලි කිරීම ජාතික ධීවර සහයෝගිතා ව්‍යාපාරයේදී කාන්තා අංශයේ සම්බන්ධිකාරිනි ලවීනා හසන්ති මහත්මිය ද විසින් සිදු කළා ය. මෙම මාධ්‍ය සාකච්ඡාවේදී දකුණේ ධීවර කාන්තාවන්ගේ වත්මන් තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳව මෙහිදි සාකච්ඡා විණි. ඉන්ධන මිල අධික ලෙස ඉහළ යෑම හේතුවෙන් පවුලේ ආර්ථිකය කඩා වැටීම හා ධීවර කාන්තාවගේ වර්තමාන තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳව ජාතික කාන්තා සම්මේලනයේ සභාපතිනි නෙලුම්කා වීරක්කොඩි මහත්මිය ද භුමිතෙල් මිල ඉහළ සමඟ ධීවර රැකියාවට එය බලපා ඇති ආකාරය පිළිබඳව පෙට්ටිවත්ත ග්‍රාමයේ කාන්තාවන් දෙදෙනෙකු විසින් ද ඉන්ධන මිල ඉහළ යෑම සමඟ පසු අස්වනු ක්‍රියාවලිය කඩා වැටීම පිළිබඳව මාතර කාන්තා කමිටුවේ දයා පුංචිහේවා මහත්මිය විසින් ද වර්තමාන තත්ත්වය තුළ දරුවන්ගේ අධ්‍යාපනය කඩා වැටීම පිළිබඳව කළුතර දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ මානෙල් ගුණතිලක මහත්මිය විසින් ද ඉන්ධන ගැටලුව හා ධීවර කාන්තාවන් මුහුණ දෙන ගැටලු විසඳීමට රජයට කරන යෝජනා පිළිබඳව නදීකා ජයමාලි මහත්මිය විසින් ද අදහස් ඉදිරිපත් කරනු ලැබූහ. 

A press conference organized by the National Federation of Fisheries Women was held on Wednesday 07 September 2022 at Pettiwatta village in Galle district, focusing on the problems faced by women including the fuel crisis caused by the current high fuel prices. Ms. Lavina Hasanthi, coordinator of the women's section of the National Fisheries Solidarity Movement, explained the purpose in this press conference. In this press conference, the current situation of fisher women in the south was discussed here. Mrs. Nelumka Veerakkodi, President of the National Women's Federation, about the collapse of the family economy due to the high fuel price and the current situation of the fisherwomen, and how it has affected the fishermen's jobs with the high price of kerosene, and the post-harvest process with the increase in the fuel price. Mrs. Daya Punchiheva of Matara Women's Committee about the collapse and Mrs. Manel Gunathilaka of Kalutara district about the collapse of children's education in the current situation. Mrs. Nadika Jayamali also presented her views on the fuel problem and the proposals to the government to solve the problems faced by fisherwomen.
