National Fisheries Solidarity Movement (NAFSO) with several other civil society organizations conducted a protest march and a rally in Negombo on the 20th of November 2022 to commemorate World Fisheries day and to also to celebrate the 25 years of service of NAFSO in Sri Lanka. A large number of NAFSO members including women and youth from various districts in Sri Lanka attended this protest and the rally. Members of various civil society organizations also attended the meeting.
Demanding to address the issues faced by the small-scale fisher communities such as the high cost of living this protest march was held from the city of Negombo to the Negombo Municipal Hall.

සුළුපන්න ධීවර කාර්මීකයින්ගේ වසර සැමරීම හා ජාතික ධීවර සහයෝගිතා ව්‍යාපාරයේ අභිමානවත් 25 වසරක ගමන් මඟ සනිටුවන් කරන ලෝක ධීවර දිනය සමගාමීව දිස්ත්‍රික්ක 15 පැමිණි ධීවරයින්, ධීවර කාන්තාවන්, මානව හිමිකම් ක්‍රියාධරයින්, තරුණ තරුණියන්, සිවිල් ක්‍රියාකාරීන් විශාල පිරිසකගේ සභාගිත්වයෙන් 2022 නොවැම්බර් මස 20 වන ඉරුදින මීගමුව බාල්දි හන්දියේ සාන්ත සෙබන්තියන් ප්‍රතිමාව ඉදිරියෙන් උද්ඝෝෂණ ව්‍යාපාරයක් දියත් කරන ලදී. මෙහිදි ජනතාව මුහුණ දෙන අනේකවිධ ගැටලු සහ ධීවරයින් මුහුණ දෙන ගැටලු සඳහා අදාළ බලධාරීන්ගෙන් නිසි විසඳුම් ලබා දෙන ලෙසත් ජනතා ගැටලු සඳහා කඩිනමින් පිළිතුරු ලබා දෙන්නැයි ඉලධාරීන්ට බලපෑම් කරමින් ඉල්ලා මෙම උද්ඝෝෂණ ව්‍යාපාරය මීගමුව බාල්දි හන්දියේ සිට මීගමුව මහ නගර සභා භූමිය දක්වා සටන් පාඨ ප්‍රදර්ශනය කරමින් ඔවුන්ගේ අයිතින් ලබා දෙන්නැයි හඬ ගසමින් මෙම උද්ඝෝෂණ රැළිය සංවිධානය කෙරිණි.
