International Women's Day Celebrated in Eastern Province..



International Women's Day was celebrated in eastern province at Addalachchainai Rauf Hakeem Ground with the participation of more than 1000 women and men. Eatern Province chief minister mr. Shivaneshthurai Chandrakanthan was the distinguish guest at the ceremony. In addition to that, some other Municipal council's Ministers attended on the occasion and addressed gathering and thanking to National Fisheries Solidarity Movement (NAFSO) on behalf of organizing such a progaremme in eastern province for women.

As a result of the research carried out in eastern province regarding women's issues and to develop their social condition and also economy as they have been displacing both from the war and tsunami for a long time, A women's "Charter" was handed over to the Chief minister Mr. Shivaneshathurai Chandrakanthan for drawing his attention on this.

This Charter was handed over By Mr. Herman Kumara , The National Convener of NAFSO and the Admin Secretary Mrs. Geetha Luckmini Fernado to the Minister.

The Chief Minister invited all to join in hands together for developing collapsed lives of people addressing all gatherings at the International Women's Day celebration and further he revealed an importance of this women's Charter prepared by NAFSO with the help of eastern women.
" This is a good source of information for us to find burning issues of women and take immediate actions to solve these problems in equally" The minister added.

Finally women leaders pointed out how they have been victimizing in this social system and demanded from all to get together to create a better world.
