DIFSO Ampara team organized a Women group meeting at Kawadapitty village. Kannan Andrew of DIFSO Ampara Facilitated the meeting with the leadership of women in the village and shared his views “There are number of unattended social, ecoomic issues of women here. Although so called Awakening of Eastern Province program launched, there is no difference of lives of the communities living here. Need to address themCollectively and women need to take the leadership.”Kalanthar Issadeen Issadeen the Coordinator of DIFSO Ampara told “we will make the women’s day program of NAFSO this year to bring the women’s issues to main stream and find ways to address them as a collective effort. The three districts of Eastern Province come together to present our demands to the Governor and political authorities in the province.”NAFSO will facilitate the women’s day celebrations on 24th March under the leadership of National Fisheries Women Federation of NAFSO.
